GB 21551 ?€?Antibacterial and Cleaning Function for Household and Similar
Electrical Appliances?€? consists of several parts. The first part is general
requirement. The other parts are special requirements.
This Part is the fourth part of GB 21551.
This Part works with GB 21551.1-2008 ?€?General requirement of antibacterial
and cleaning function for household and similar electrical appliances?€?.
This Part was proposed by China National Light Industry Council.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on
Household Electric Appliances of Standardization Administration of China
(SAC/TC46).

1 Scope
This Part of GB 21551 specifies the hygienic requirement, test method, and
mark of household refrigerator, refrigerator-freezer, freezer as well as similar
electrical appliances on antibacterial function, significant prevention of fungus
(mold) growth, and deodorization.
This Part is applicable to refrigerator with antibacterial function or with
deodorization device (Hereinafter referred to as ?€?antibacterial refrigerator?€?).
2 Normative references
The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this
Part of GB 21551, constitute provisions of this Part. For dated references, all
subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to
this Part. However, the parties who enter into agreement based on this Part are
encouraged to investigate whether the latest versions of these documents are
applicable. For undated reference documents, the latest versions apply to this
Part.

GB 21551.2-2010 Antibacterial and cleaning function for household and

2 hours, test the residual concentration of methyl mercaptan or trimethylamine.
5.3.4 Sampling and concentration calculation. follow GB/T 14678 and GB/T
14676.
Use Formula (1) to calculate gas adsorption rate or decomposition rate.
Where,
A - Gas adsorption rate or decomposition rate;
C1 - Gas concentration when test begins; unit is kg/L;
C2 - Gas concentration when test finishes; unit is kg/L.
5.4 Leak testing of harmful substances
5.4.1 When testing with that purifying device of antibacterial refrigerator may
produce hazardous factors, the environmental background concentration value
shall be deducted from the room-detected value; then use the subtraction result
as test result value.
5.4.2 Use ultraviolet spectrophotometry in Appendix A of GB/T 18883-2002 to
detect ozone concentration of purifying device outlet of antibacterial refrigerator.
5.4.3 Follow 4.4 of ?€?Technical Standard for Disinfection?€? to detect ultraviolet leak
intensity of antibacterial refrigerator?€?s purifying device.
6 Mark
Antibacterial refrigerator mark shall meet the requirements of GB 21551.1-2008.
In addition to implementation number of this Standard, there shall be the
following information in the product instructions.
a) Antibacterial refrigerator parts, antibacterial rate of material, and mold
resisting level;
b) Name of deodorization device.
