General Technical Specification for Vehicle LED Screens
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements for product classification, technical requirements, test
methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and instruction
manual, etc. of vehicle LED screens.
This Standard applies to LED screens installed on moving carriers such as cars, trains, and ships
(hereinafter referred to as "screens").

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Document, the terms and definitions given in SJ/T 11141-2012 and the
following apply.
3.1 Brightness maintenance rate
When the screen is in normal use, the degree to which the screen brightness is maintained at
the initial value as the total burning hours increase, expressed as a percentage (%).
4 Product Classification
4.1 Classification by display color
It is divided into mono-color, multi-color, and full-color screens.
4.2 Classification by display function
It is divided into text, graphics, animation, and video screens.
4.3 Classification by display screen shape
It is divided into bar, rectangular, arc, and other shape screens.
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 General requirements
The design and structure of the product shall ensure that the product has reliable performance
in normal use and shall not cause harm to users and the surrounding environment.
5.2 Conditions of use
5.8.1 Power adaptability
The screen shall be able to operate normally under the conditions of 5.2 a).
5.8.2 Power consumption
The manufacturer shall provide the nominal value of power consumption; and the actual power
consumption shall not exceed 5% of the nominal value.
5.8.3 Pixel loss rate
The pixel loss rate of the entire screen shall be less than 0.2% and shall be discretely distributed.
5.8.4 Grayscale
The grayscale level of the full-color screen shall be no less than 4096 (12bit).
5.8.5 Frame switching frequency
The frame switching frequency of the screen shall be no less than 60Hz; and the frame
switching frequency of the screen that realizes 3D effect shall be no less than 120Hz.
5.8.6 Refresh frequency
The refresh frequency of the screen shall be no less than 100Hz.
5.9 Functional characteristics
It shall meet the requirements specified in 5.9 of SJ/T 11141-2012 and the product?€?s instruction
manual.
5.10 Safety requirements
5.10.1 Electrical safety requirements
It shall comply with the provisions of GB 4943.1.
5.10.2 Marking
The screen shall have the following safety markings.
- Rated voltage or voltage range, V;
- Symbol of power supply properties;
- Rated current, mA or A;
- Manufacturer name or trademark;
- Model code specified by the manufacturer;
- Others.
5.10.3 Hazard protection
The screen shall be able to protect against hazards related to electric shock, energy, fire, heat,
machinery, etc.
5.11 Electromagnetic compatibility
It shall comply with the provisions of 3.9 in QC/T 413-2002.
5.12 Immunity
The immunity requirements of the screen shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 22630-
2008.
5.13 Environmental adaptability
5.13.1 High temperature load test
According to the provisions of GB/T 2423.2-2008, the screen is operated at rated voltage for
16 h at 55??C. Immediately after the test, the structure, appearance, mechanical properties,
optical properties, electrical properties, and functional characteristics of the screen shall be
inspected and shall meet the requirements of Articles 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, and 5.9 of this Standard.
5.13.2 High temperature storage test
According to the provisions of GB/T 2423.2-2008, the screen is stored at 70??C for 2 h and
restored at room temperature for 4 h; then the structure, appearance, mechanical properties,
optical properties, electrical properties, and functional characteristics of the screen shall be
inspected and shall meet the requirements of Articles 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, and 5.9 of this Standard.
5.13.3 Constant damp heat test
According to the provisions of GB/T 2423.3-2006, the screen is operated at rated voltage for
48 h at a temperature of 45??C and a relative humidity of 90%. Immediately after the test, the
structure, appearance, mechanical properties, optical properties, electrical properties, and
functional characteristics of the screen shall be inspected, and shall meet the requirements of
5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, and 5.9 of this Standard.
5.13.4 Low temperature load test
According to the provisions of GB/T 2423.1-2008, the screen is operated at rated voltage for 1
hour at -10??C. Immediately after the test, the structure, appearance, mechanical properties,
optical properties, electrical properties, and functional characteristics of the screen shall be
- Illuminance meter. indication error less than ??3%;
- The accuracy level of the power test instrument is Level-1.0;
- The rest of the test equipment and test software refer to the requirements of 3.2 in SJ/T
11281-2007.
6.3 Hardware environment
According to the functional requirements, check the control part host, communication interface,
and screen installation structure of the screen one by one, and they shall meet the requirements
of 5.3.
6.4 Software environment
The software environment of the screen shall be visually inspected according to the functional
requirements and shall meet the requirements of 5.4.
6.5 Structure and appearance
6.5.1 Structure
It shall be inspected by visual inspection and manual operation.
6.5.2 Appearance
It is inspected by visual inspection.
6.6 Mechanical properties
6.6.1 Assembly accuracy
It shall be tested according to the provisions of 6.6 in SJ/T 11141-2012.
6.6.2 Enclosure protection level
It shall be tested according to the method specified in GB 4208.
6.7 Optical properties
6.7.1 Maximum brightness
When the ambient illumination is 10LX, the LED screen is at the highest gray level and the
highest brightness level for each primary color, and the full-color LED screen is also in the
white balance state. After reaching stability, test according to the measurement conditions and
measurement steps specified in 4.2.1.2 of SJ/T 11281-2007.
6.7.2 Viewing angle
It shall be tested according to the provisions of 4.2.2 in SJ/T 11281-2007.
6.7.3 Brightness non-uniformity
It shall be tested according to the provisions of 4.2.7 in SJ/T 11281-2007.
6.7.4 Primary color dominant wavelength error
It shall be tested according to the provisions of 4.2.4 in SJ/T 11281-2007.
6.7.5 White balance color coordinates
It shall be tested according to the provisions of 4.2.5 in SJ/T 11281-2007.
6.7.6 Maximum contrast ratio
It shall be tested according to the provisions of 4.2.3 in SJ/T 11281-2007.
6.7.7 Brightness maintenance rate
After the newly installed screen has been in normal use for 168 h, remove the four corners and
the center of the screen, a total of five modules; and send them to the laboratory. Under the
maximum brightness working state, the average brightness of the five modules is measured
according to 6.8.1 as the initial brightness of the screen. When the modules are assembled back
to the original screen and they continue to burn for 3000h and 6000h under normal use; the test
is carried out according to the above method. The percentage of the measured brightness to the
initial brightness is the brightness maintenance rate L3000 and L6000 of the screen for 3000h and
6000h.
6.8 Electrical performance
6.8.1 Power adaptability
Adjust the power supply voltage range and measure the voltage value with a voltmeter. It shall
comply with the provisions of Article 5.8.1 of this Standard.
6.8.2 Maximum power consumption
Use a power meter to measure the screen input power.
6.8.3 Pixel loss rate
It shall be tested according to the provisions of 4.3.7 in SJ/T 11281-2007.
6.8.4 Grayscale
It shall be tested according to the provisions of 4.3.5 in SJ/T 11281-2007.

7.2.3 Handling after delivery inspection
Each product shall be inspected according to the delivery inspection items. If qualified, it shall
be accepted; if there is one or more unqualified items, it shall be returned and submitted for
inspection again after rework until it is qualified.
7.3 Type test
7.3.1 Type inspection shall be carried out at least once a year; and type inspection shall be
carried out in time in any of the following cases.
a) Change of design or key process;
b) Change of main materials;
c) Production is stopped for more than one year and then restarted;
d) Requested by the national quality supervision agency.
7.3.2 Type inspection items are all test items in this Standard.
7.3.3 Type inspection is carried out by 4 samples randomly selected from the products that have
passed the exit-factory inspection for testing, of which 2 samples are tested for items 5.1 ~ 5.13
and 8.1 of this Standard; and the other 2 samples are used as spare samples.
NOTE. The number of samples for the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) test shall be implemented
in accordance with the provisions of Article 5.14.
7.3.4 Judgment of the qualified and the unqualified
The judgement of the qualified and the unqualified is as follows.
a) If all requirements of this standard are met after the test, the product is deemed to have
passed the type inspection.
b) If any of the Type-A items (Articles 5.10 and 5.11 in this Standard) of the sample does
not meet this Standard after the test, the batch of products is deemed to be unqualified.
c) If any of the Type-B items (except Articles 5.10 and 5.11 in this standard) of the sample
does not meet this Standard after the test, double sampling shall be conducted from the
same batch of products for reinspection of the item. If the re-inspection is qualified, the
product is also deemed to have passed the type inspection; if the product is still
unqualified, the batch of products is deemed to be unqualified.
d) If two or more items do not meet this Standard after the test, the batch of products is
deemed to be unqualified; and no double sampling shall be conducted.
NOTE. The determination of pass and fail of the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) test shall be
carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 5.14.
7.3.5 After the unqualified products are repaired, they can be resubmitted for testing.
8 Marking, Packaging, Transportation, Storage, and
Instruction Manual
8.1 Marking
8.1.1 The product logo nameplate shall be prominently located on the outer surface of the screen;
and the nameplate shall include the following.
a) Safety mark of 5.10.2;
b) Maximum brightness;
c) Color temperature, white balance color coordinates (full-color screen);
d) Protection level (outside the vehicle);
e) Product certification mark (if applicable);
f) Others.
8.1.2 The following markings shall be on the outer packaging box of the screen.
a) Product name and specification model;
b) Product implementation standard;
c) Volume (length ?? width ?? height);
d) Net weight and gross weight;
e) Manufacturer's name and address;
f) Appropriate signs such as moisture-proof, handle with care, and fragile, which shall
comply with the provisions of GB/T 191-2008.
8.1.3 The logo nameplate of the screen shall be clear, easy to identify, and not easy to fade and
fall off due to the influence of the natural environment.
8.2 Packaging
8.2.1 The screen shall be packed in a plastic bag with moisture-proof and dust-proof functions;
