content and initial implementation date are shown in Annex 1), including 286
mechanical industry standards, 17 automotive industry standards, 19 marine
industry standards, 5 aviation industry standards, 24 chemical industry
standards, 58 metallurgical industry standards, 146 non-ferrous metal industry
standards, 16 rare earth industry standards, and petrochemicals 7
petrochemical industry standards, 73 light industry standards, 10 civil explosive
industry standards, 77 electronic industries, and 138 communications industry
standards. It approved two light industry standard revisions such as ?€?Neutral
Ink Ballpoint Pen and Refill?€? (see Annex 2). It approved 12 non-ferrous metal
industry standard samples such as ?€?Aluminum Alloy 6061 Spectrum Single
Point Standard Sample?€? (standard sample list and component content table are
shown in Annex 3). Industry standard revisions and industry standard samples
are implemented from the date of release.

The technical specification of
automotive cabin air filter
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the technical conditions, inspection rules as well as
marks, packaging, transport and storage for automotive cabin air filter.
This Standard is applicable to granular air conditioner filters and multi-effect air
conditioner filters for passenger compartments with a volume (length x width x
height) of not less than 0.0008 m3.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in QC/T
795.1-2007, QC/T 795.2-2007 as well as the followings apply.
3.1 cabin air filter
the device that is used to filter the air flowing through the interior of the cabin
and to introduce impurities and harmful gases from the outside of the
automobile through the air conditioning system; it is also known as air filter for
passenger room, automotive air conditioning filter, automotive air conditioning
filter
3.2 particle filter
cabin air filter for separating and storing tangible particles in an air stream; it is
also known as dust filter, pollen filter, single effect filter
3.3 combination filter
cabin air filter for separating, storing and adsorbing tangible particles, harmful
gases and odors in air streams; it is also known as activated carbon filter, multi-
effect filter
3.4 fogging
refer to a phenomenon in which a thin layer of coating of volatile substances on
the windshield and other glass is condensed under certain conditions to reduce
visibility
3.5 odor characteristics
volatile components with distinctly identifiable odors when materials or
components are stored at specified temperature and climatic conditions
4 Requirements
4.1 General
The cabin air filter shall be manufactured in accordance with the product
drawings and technical documents approved by the prescribed procedures.
The technical conditions shall comply with the provisions of this Standard. If the
customer has technical requirements, execute as required.
4.2 Requirements for prohibited substances and restricted substances
The prohibited substances and restricted substances involved in the materials
used shall comply with the Global Automotive Declaration Substances List
(GADSL) and be declared in IMDS or CAMDS.
4.3 Material flammability
4.6.3.2 Leveled filtration efficiency
Under the condition of test air flow of 300 m3/h, use the A2 ash test defined in
GB/T 28957.1. The leveled filtration efficiency of combination filter shall meet
the requirements of the corresponding category in Table 6.

4.6.3.3 Ash storage
Under the test air flow rate of 300 m3/h, use the A4 ash or A2 ash test defined
in ISO 12103. When the pressure-drop increases by 200 Pa, the ash storage
capacity of combination filter shall comply with the corresponding category in
Table 7.

4.6.3.4 Gas adsorption performance
Under the condition of test air flow of 150 m3/h, category I shall comply with the
provisions of Table 8, and category II shall comply with the provisions of Table
9.

Conditions for termination of adsorption capacity test. the gas concentration of
n-butane and toluene as the sample surface reaches 95% of the inlet gas
concentration; sulfur dioxide is 60 min from zero.
5.5 Appearance
Use visual inspection for appearance quality.
5.6 Temperature resistance
5.6.1 High temperature test. place the cabin air filter element in an 85??C ?? 1??C
incubator. Remove after 24 h of constant temperature and observe the test
results.
5.6.2 Low temperature test. place the cabin air filter element in an -40??C ?? 1??C
incubator. Remove after 24 h of constant temperature and observe the test
results.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 General
Each product shall be inspected as qualified by the quality inspection
department and accompanied by a product certificate.
6.2 Inspection type
It is divided into exit-factory inspection and type test.
6.3 Exit-factory inspection
Inspection items are dimensions and 4.4 requirements.
6.4 Type test
Type test shall be performed in one of the following situations.
a) trial model identification for new product;
b) great changes in production site, production equipment, structure,
materials, process after regular production which may affect product
performances;
c) once every year during regular production;
d) great difference between exit-factory inspection results and previous type
test results;
